I feel extremely fortunate to call Wrentham my home and to have the opportunity to serve the community that I love.
Hello Wrentham, my name is Chris Gallo, and I am running for reelection to the Wrentham Select Board. My family and I have had the pleasure of calling this amazing town our home for over 8 years. My wife of 12 years is Katlyn Gallo, and she is an amazing wife, mother, former teacher, and business partner. We are blessed to have two children, Tommy who will be 10 on March 8 and Maddy who is 6.Whether coaching our kids’ sports, being involved with organizations such as WEST, Lions Club, Wrentham Sportsman’s Club, the American Legion, or being actively involved in our church, we have always tried to exemplify service to our family, friends, and community.The past 3 years of serving on the Select Board have been an incredible learning experience, and we have gotten some great things accomplished, but there is still more work to do. Since being elected, the board and town have accomplished many things, and of those, I am fortunate to have played a small role.Some of the key areas of focus over the past 3 years that will continue into my next term include:
Economy – I will continue to work with our local businesses to keep our economy strong. I will also work to welcome new businesses of any size to help increase our tax revenue. I will also continue working with existing businesses to ensure that they have all the tools needed to make and keep them successful. I will continue to make sure that property taxes are as low as possible through strategic and common-sense development of our town, focusing on downtown, 1A, and the Route 1 corridors. I also want to continue to develop a rich and diverse housing stock that allows a price point for every budget. We cannot grow as a community without having the necessary infrastructure to do so. As such, it will be my continued focus to ensure we have the necessary elements, such as safe roads and ample and safe water, so that we can accomplish these goals.
Schools – It has been a pleasure to work with our Superintendent, School Committee, teachers, and support staff to foster the growth and development of our students, keeping our schools of the highest caliber. I will continue to support our schools and ancillary organizations such as WEST, PTO, and School Committee. I also support strong parental engagement, communication, and transparency so parents have insight and a say as to what their children are learning in the classroom.
Essential Town Services – I will continue to support and enhance all our essential town services that make Wrentham great. I have been and will continue to be a strong supporter of our PD, FD, and DPW, who work around the clock to keep us safe. The people who run these organizations are some of our best assets.
Seniors and Veterans - It has been a pleasure to work closely with our senior and veteran communities at the senior center and American Legion Post to ensure that two of our most valuable groups of people have the services they need and deserve. It is our duty and obligation to make sure that our veterans and Seniors are taken care of.
I truly believe that Wrentham is one of the best and most welcoming towns in the Commonwealth. To build upon this, we need to maintain local decision-making, ensuring that all 12,000 residents have a say in our town’s future.
